Our work is excellent and our prices are reasonable. Estimates are based upon the number of breaks or cracks, any missing pieces that may need to be recreated, the number of colors which may need to be matched, stain removal and whether old repairs need to be removed. Below are some factors affecting costs:
MATERIALS - What your piece is comprised of, the repair materials and the techniques required.
BREAKS/CRACKS - How many breaks/cracks must be fixed? Each break/crack must often be fixed separately. Temporary holders may need to be created.
GLUES - Has a break been previously glued? Considerable time and labor is needed to undue old repairs and cannot be rushed. Some glues like silicon rubber cause difficulty and may make a re-repair impractical.
TOUCH-UP COLOR - How many colors must be matched on missing chips?
DESIGN PATTERNS - How intricate is the design?
CHIPS - How many chips need to be filled and restored?
SURFACE TEXTURES - Is the piece textured and how many textures are involved?
MISSING PIECES - How many fingers, hands, legs, flowers, leaves, etc. need to be created or ordered from the factory of origin?
FULL RESTORATION - How many colors must be mixed to match the paint?
MISC. - Special handling, size and/or extra fragile?
THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE VALUE OF THE PIECE.
The cost can far exceed the actual value of the piece. The design, market value and construction of an expensive piece may greatly increase the repair difficulty, therefore, will increase the time, techniques and expertise required. Expensive pieces may require more insurance, difficult packing and shipping due to their design, resulting in increased costs.
For small items that are shipped into our studio, a written estimate will be delivered and a minimum $15.00 packing, handling and return shipping fee is required.
A minimum of $40.00 on all orders placed. We accept checks, money orders and the following credit cards.
We also accept credit/debit cards on a secure server.
